Rats mainly feature out in search of food, water, and shelter at night and in many cases are homes become their favorite hang out. This does not mean they will actually live in your home; they only frequent your home for food and water.
Rats are not as easy to get rid of, as many people believe. Rats are a bit leery of new things that have been placed in their paths along their favorite places to visit. This means if you place a trap somewhere close to an area they visit, normally it will be left totally alone for up to four days. Professionals explain that since rats are this way when it comes to new things, it would not be wise to bait a trap as soon as you place it. The reason being is that before grabbing the bait, they will investigate the trap for at least a day before they actually grab the bait. The best way is to leave the trap with the bait alone.
After a few days, you will notice the bait gone. Now, add more bait and set the trap. The rats already know that the trap is safe or at least they think it is, and is a great place to receive a treat. They will easily grab for the bait without a second thought. Of course, you may be wondering what rats like to eat. Well, many people have tried all kinds of things for bait. Cheese is not the best bait! Many people state that peanut butter and even pop tarts do a much better job.
You can use a large variety of traps – ones that will kill the rat or others that will only trap the rat so you can release it. One thing to remember though, if you release the rat back into the field nearby it will find its way back. Rats also bite, so be very careful when releasing it back into the wild.
When you decide on the trap, you prefer you must learn the instinct of rats. They normally travel into your home by way of the baseboards. They like to stay out of sight and do not like walking across a room, they will stay as close to the walls as possible. You need to place the traps close to the wall and of the way of small children and pets. The best places to place traps are behind the stove, the refrigerator, under all the sinks, behind the washing machine, and possibly behind the commode. Yes, rats are looking for water as much as food and there are rats large enough to drink out of the commode just like your dog.
If you would prefer to keep the rats out of your home instead of trapping them, they you need to find the way they are coming in and blocking the hole. You can fill in all cracks and crevices from the walls to the basement to the attic to ensure the rats will not be able to find away into your home.

In the ferret, adrenal disease – or hyperadrenocorticism – most commonly occurs when a tumor or lesion on the adrenal glands causes an overproduction of the hormones produced by the adrenal glands. Adrenal disease is most common in ferrets over the age of three years, but it can affect ferrets as young as a year old. Adrenal disease is one of the most prevalent ferret diseases, and there is no definitive test for it. Ferret owners need to know as much as possible about it to be able to recognize it and help the ferret after he is diagnosed by the veterinarian. CAUSES

While we don’t know for sure what exactly causes adrenal disease in ferrets, most theories point to two possible causes:Spaying and neutering at a young age

Many large ferret breeders spay or neuter ferrets at the age of 5 or 6 weeks, which may cause the ferret’s body to overcompensate for the lack of normal sex hormones. Adrenal disease has occurred in ferrets that are spayed or neutered after they have reached sexual maturity, but it is not nearly as common.Extended photoperiods

Most ferrets have been forced to adapt to their owner’s lifestyle and are exposed to at least four or five hours of artificial light in the evening in addition to the natural light during the day. This limits the time they spend in darkness, which decreases melatonin production. Too little melatonin results in overstimulation of the adrenal glands. Ferrets should have no less than 12 hours of complete darkness throughout a 24 hour period.

When a ferret develops adrenal disease, it is most likely the combination of a variety of factors. In addition to environmental factors, some ferrets are probably genetically predisposed to developing adrenal gland cancer.SIGNS

Hair loss or hair thinning – at the base of the tail, on his feet, on his belly, in an obvious pattern, or in a patchy appearance – are classic signs of adrenal disease. There are multiple causes for hair loss in ferrets, but a ferret owner should always suspect adrenal disease and report this to his or her veterinarian, especially if the ferret is 3 years of age or older. However, while hair loss is the classic sign of adrenal disease, not all ferrets will have this sign.

Unlike other diseases, there is not a standard set of signs that a ferret with adrenal disease will always display. The range of signs that your ferret shows will depend on where the tumor is on his adrenal glands. The adrenal glands produce many hormones, so the location of the tumor will affect which hormones are overproduced. The types of hormones that are overproduced determines which signs you will see.

Here are the various signs of adrenal disease:

When was the last time you visited with a lonesome only to have their children frog demo you out to the backyard to vista their newest acquisition which you knew little about, their pet guinea pig? And delightful they are, for guinea pigs make great pets, but they were not forever a domestic animal, so just where do they originate from, and where did they get that name from, because, lets face it, a very odd name. Well let me shock you by initially saying that they are actually rodents, and are technically known as Cavies, but don\’t let all this put you off, like read on. They have sprung into popularity within the onwards few decades and this might well make you think that they are a new pet, but think again. Archaeologists have bare fossilised remainder dating back millions of days, making them a very old pet indeed! Now for something moreover to amaze you, they worn to be much superior to they are today, averaging around 9 feet long. That\’s a sizeable pet. The first people to domesticate the guinea pig were the Incas, and South America is where they were first discovered. They were, and still are admired as, both an Icon, and an informer of food, in many South American countries. In many parts of Peru they are thoughts very vastly of because of their deceptive ability to repair the sick and fetch comfort and support to the ultimate as they move into the next life. The guinea pig first arrived in Europe and America as a result of sailors bringing them there to retail for one guinea, and this is how they got their name. The pig part of their name came about because of the comical squealing clatter they make and their resemblance to actual pigs. One of their claims to fame is that they have been current in the sphere of seek and who I miracle has never heard the expression \’being a guinea pig\’? Medical knowledge has benefited intensely from the use of guinea pigs in their laboratories but of course although they have saved many a human life, the price in the lives of the guinea pigs has been high. Still today guinea pigs are used for research purposes, but typically in the part of genetics and hereditary matters, and we are confident that they are not harmed in any way. In the South American country of Peru guinea pigs are seized in such admire that they often are given as gifts to people, and they are involved in ceremonial occasions. Isn\’t it amazing that what is in cause a rodent could become such a prevalent pet? During a modern analysis it was found the guinea pigs came just fourth in popularity behind dogs, cats and rabbits. Next time you look into the links confine at their pet I think you will appreciate all the more what you are looking at.

The Bible says that the Rabbit is a ruminant animal while the sciences say that the Rabbit is not a ruminant animal.

The Quran does not mention the Rabbit by name but it gives an Arabic word of four characters that can be applicable for man, animals, birds, plants and microbes.

The Rabbit in the Bible:

RABBITS ERRONEOUSLY CALLED RUMINANTS IN THE BIBLE

The rabbits are mentioned in the Old Testament in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14. The rabbit does not mentioned in the New Testament.

The quotes herein are from the New International Version.

Leviticus 11:3-6:

‘Whatever divides the hoof, and is cloven-footed, chewing the cud, among the animals, that you shall eat.

‘Only, you shall not eat these of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: the camel, for he chews the cud but does not divide the hoof; he is unclean to you.

And the rock badger, because he chews the cud, but does not divide the hoof; he is unclean to you.

‘And the hare, because he chews the cud but does not divide the hoof; he is unclean to you.’

Deuteronomy 14:6-8:

You may eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud.

However, of those that chew the cud or that have a split hoof completely divided you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the Coney. Although they chew the cud, they do not have a split hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you.

The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.

These verses made the digestive process of the rabbit an object of a hot theological discussion?

In Hebrew “arnebeth” means rabbit

Also, in Arabic “arnab” means a male rabbit and “arnabat” means a female rabbit.

The Hebrew words are: ‘ALEH GERAH, lit,

These Hebrew words mean ‘Gerah the cud’ and translated to ‘chew the cud’

The exact or the true translation should be: “raising up what has been swallowed”)? Or may be translated to ‘bring up the cud’

Rabbits do not bring up anything; they let it go all the way through, and then eat it again. The description given in Leviticus is inaccurate. Rabbits do eat their own dung; they do not bring anything up and chew on it.

The Bible says that the hare chews the cud, but the scientists claim that the Bible is in error on this point.

Furthermore, some skeptics claim that since the Bible contains this error, it is not the Word of God and cannot be taken seriously on any other points either.

Animals that ‘chew the cud’ are called ruminants. They hardly chew their food when first eaten, but swallow it into a special stomach where the food is partially digested. Then it is regurgitated, chewed again, and swallowed into a different stomach. Animals which do this include cows, sheep and goats, and they all have four stomachs. Coneys and rabbits are not ruminants.

Animals which do this include cows, sheep, goats, deer, and giraffes; they all have four stomachs and chewing a cud consisting of regurgitated, partially digested food.” Coneys and rabbits are not ruminants.

The rabbit does not fit this definition, and trying to classify it as a ruminant is not accepted.

Biblical scholars refuse to see this statement as a biological error that incorrectly classifies the rabbit as a ruminant or cud-chewer.

When defining the rabbit, most of the Bible Dictionaries say that the habit of the rabbit is to grind its teeth and move its jaw as if it actually chewed the cud. But, like the Coney, it is not a ruminant with four stomachs, but a rodent like the squirrel, rat, etc. Moses speaks of it according to appearance. It is interdicted because, though apparently chewing the cud, it did not divide the hoof.”

Examples of what is said about the rabbit in some Bible Dictionaries

Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible, page 525:

“The assertion that the hare is a ruminant is contrary to fact. Some movements of the mouth and jaws have been erroneously interpreted as cud-chewing.”

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, page 616:

“This animal is mentioned only in the lists of unclean animals in Leviticus and Deuteronomy…The hare and the Coney are not ruminants, but might be supposed to be from their habit of almost continuously moving their jaws.”

Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible, 2000 edition, page 552:

“Because it “chews the cud” but “does not have divided hoofs,” the hare is classified as an unclean animal (Lev. 11:6; Deut. 14:7). Actually, it is not a ruminant but may have appeared as such to ancient observers because of its constant chewing movements.”

A Biblical scholar said:

“I don’t believe the rabbit chews the cud in the modern technical sense. It simply makes a chewing motion that from an observational point of view can be associated with other animals that do chew the cud in the technical sense.”

Another intellectual claims that “the Hebrew “arnebeth” means an unidentified animal which is rendered hare or rabbit, perhaps incorrectly”. His opinion is far beyond the reality!

Other Biblical academic said:

“Does the rabbit ruminate? True ruminants normally have four stomachs, and that which has been worked over in these stomachs is regurgitated into the mouth when it is ready to be chewed again. In this technical sense neither the rabbit nor the hare can be called ruminants, but they do give the appearance of chewing their cud in the same way ruminants do.”

Herein the conclusion of what the Biblical researchers say:

	The Rabbits do give the appearance of chewing their cud in the same way ruminants do.

	The Rabbits are not ruminants, but might be supposed to be from their habit of almost continuously moving their jaws.

	The Rabbits are not ruminants but may have appeared as such to ancient observers because of their constant chewing movements.

Now the question is: what is the relation between the Word of God and the ancient observers who assumed that the Rabbits are cud-chewing due to its habit of continuously moving its jaws? And who wrote the Bible those observers or the God?

The Rabbit in the Quran:

The rabbit by name is not mentioned in the Quran.

However, the Quran gives an Arabic word of four characters that can be applicable for man, animals, birds, plants and microbes.

You will read about this comprehensive word very soon.

When you have kids, they can often drive you crazy by hounding for a dog or a cat. Some parents are reluctant to give their child a pet due to fear of the animal harming the child being forefront in their minds. There are many dog and cat breeds that you can have in your home that will do really well for you and your family—even with small children. There are, of course, some precautions to make.

First, we will look at dog breeds. There are certain dog breeds that demand respect and kids often don’t have those feelings. Most children do not understand that pulling on the pet’s tail or stroking too roughly can not only harm the animal, but make it resentful of the child. You can of course work with your child to help him develop proper pet-handling behavior, but you should first consider starting out with a pet breed that is best for children. For instance, the following dog breeds are well-known for being especially good with children: St. Bernards, Golden and Labrador Retrievers, Great Danes, German Shepherds, Poodles, Siberian Huskies, and Mastiffs. While you do have to be careful about their size and make sure they are socialized and housetrained, they make wonderful pets. They are very affectionate and tend to exercise care and protectiveness of the children. These dog breeds will also stand up to a certain amount of abuse. If the child pulls on the tail or accidentally falls into them they are more likely to be worried and protective rather than distasteful or aggressive. You do have to teach your kid to be respectful, but generally these dogs as pets will offer a wonderful family addition.

In general, most cats are going to have issues with children. With cats, who are not as easy to train, you will find they tend to nip or bite a child who pulls their ears/tail or hurts them in any way. It is the cat’s way of showing anger. Cats by nature tend to choose one owner. This owner usually showers them with affection and treats them properly. If you do introduce a cat into your household, you should make sure your children are old enough to understand and exercise the proper treatment of it. Typically you want a child no younger than three dealing with any pet, especially cats. At this age the kid is old enough to understand right from wrong and deal with the pain if the cat bites them for a good reason. Some cats you may want in your home include the Abyssinian, American bobtail, American shorthair, Balinese, Birman, Bombay, Burmese, Manx, Persian, and Siberian. Typically you should not have a Siamese cat around children, as they tend to be very moody and are often one who demands respect. When you consider getting a pet for your child, it is important to realize that not all pets are great for a home.

Helpful Hints & Tips On Buying A Horse

There is a lot to take into consideration when looking the the right horse for sale. Novice and inexperienced riders should always seek expert, unbiased advice form a qualified professional.

The standard of the rider and their amount of experience looking after horses and ponies must be taken into account. Assessing the rider’s capabilities and needs is essential as this should be used as a guide to find a horse or pony for sale that meets with the requirements and needs of the rider to find a potentially well matched partnership.

Finding the right horse

Be prepared to travel. Recommendation is always a good way of sourcing a quality horse, remember not all horses for sale are advertised. Go to competitions if you see a horse you may be interested in don’t be afraid to go up to the owner and ask if they would be interested in selling. Be prepared to approach a horse producer who specializes in the type of horse for sale you are looking at. (If you do turn to a horse producer make it clear on what you do and what you don’t want.)

When replying to adverts find out some information on the prospective horse or pony to determine their suitability.

How old is the horse? Does he have a passport? What type of temperament does the horse have? Does the horse bite or kick? Does the horse have any vices? Is the horse calm or buzzy to ride? What bit is the horse ridden in? Does the horse hack out alone and in company? Does the horse have any behavioural problems? Does the horse have a dust allergy? Has the horse had any health problems? Are the horses’ vaccinations & worming an up to date? What is the horse fed on? Does the horse live in or out?

Does he need any special care?

Tips on viewing a horse

Don’t fall in love with the first horse you see, it is unlikely the first horse you see will be the one for you.

Try not to be influenced by a flashy / good looking horse, not all turn out to be as nice as they look.

Remember presentation is everything when selling, so the horses for sale you go to view will be done up to look the best. Look past the horses’ appearance, the horse may look brilliant but can it do the job you want?

Always see the horse or pony untacked and untied in a loose box. You will be able to start to determine the horse’s temperament. Make sure the horse is happy to be groomed, tacked and untacked, remember to touch his face and pick up his feet. When taking them out of the stable watch as you do not want a horse that pushes you out of the way and runs off. Watch the owner turn the horse out; make sure you are happy with the way he behaves.

Ask the vendor to ride the horse for so you can assess the horses’ way of going. If suitable, try the horse. Ask for the horse or pony to be ridden out of the yard alone, and watch him being hacked alone and in company. (You can follow by car) You will be able to assess how the horse behaves on with traffic, and you can see how well the horse hacks alone and with company. If the seller does not have the facilities you require to try the horse or pony out arrange to meet at an equestrian centre that meets your needs, for example if the seller doesn’t have access to a set of show jumps, or a cross country course. If the horse or pony meets your requirements arrange for a second viewing.

Buying the horse

Never buy if you don’t feel safe and comfortable on the horse as this feeling won’t go after you have purchased and you won’t enjoy your time with the horse. Never be pressured into buying a horse.

Always have a potential horse vetted.

When buying your horse you must have something in writing which states the horse is up to the job you want it to do. If the horse has any problems (for instance the horse may crib) So that there is no confusion on the horses capabilities and behavior. Having a receipt / bill of sale which has this information is essential. If you brought the horse and it does not do what it should and you have nothing to prove any difference there is not much you can do, but if you have something in writing then you can prove you were sold a faulty horse and should be able to return it.

http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Escalure-Fishing-Tackle

As recently featured on ‘Tight Lines’ on Sky Sports, this evolutionary technology has just arrived in the UK and is taking the country by storm with impressive results already being seen from Boat & Shore Sea Anglers. Esca Technology is based on the sea’s own method of catching prey using lure lights as bait. Esca Technology is the only fishing product in the world that simulates natural lighting.

Esca have developed advanced Sea fishing technology for use in Esca light-emitting lures – a technology that allows our lures to generate their own power supply when in contact with seawater. The light-emitting lure is deactivated when it is no longer in contact with seawater, so Esca Technology does not need any batteries. This means that Esca Technology is environmentally friendly and is not subject to the corrosion that often forms around batteries.Â

The Esca Technology lure light lasts for at least 100 hours of active fishing (the time the unit spends in salt water). Esca Technology is also extremely robust and reliable. Unlike most technological electronic components, it can withstand pressures of over 500 meters in depth. Try for yourself and find out why sea anglers around the world are all talking about this product

Try different colors and frequencies to see what works best in various waters and conditions.

Esca Blue lights and Green lights are optimized to emit very specific wavelengths that mimic the predominant lure lights used by marine organisms.Â

Esca Blue light attractors are generally recommended for clearer waters and deeper waters because it is the wavelength that penetrates deepest and furthest.Â

Esca Green light attractors are generally recommended for murkier waters and shallower waters containing more particles and algae.Â

Try for yourself and you will see why people around the world are all talking about this product!Â

http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Escalure-Fishing-TackleÂ

Â

Hundreds if not thousands of stray dogs are found each year around the world with no one in sight and nowhere to go. These dogs are often in great danger whether it’s because of neglect on the owners’ behalf, or because of unforeseen circumstances causing the dog to become lost and scared.

What can be done in these situations can be a tricky choice, and a choice that will need to be done quickly. Simply driving past a suspected stray dog on the side of the road could end in the death of the dog minutes later.

What to do when you find a stray dog is different in almost every case, but there are guidelines to follow to help save the life of a scared stray, and put the mind of the loving owner at ease.

To begin you should always be aware that the dog in question may be very aggressive due to being scared, lost, and possibly very hungry, so approach with care. If you feel the dog is not a violent one then you should still be very careful not to startle or scare the dog in any way, a scared dog could easily run onto a busy road or dangerous area.

A good way to reassure the dog you are not there to harm them and to get them close is to use a strong smelling food such as tuna or other dog favourites as well as speaking gently and calmly to the dog.

When you finally get the dog under control and have no fears of aggressive behavior, reassuring the dog by stroking and talking to them will make it easier for others to deal with them. If you have leash or any other form of dog control with you then try and secure the dog with them, still being careful not to scare the dog.

When you have successfully captured the dog or if you have had other problems making it difficult to capture then you should phone for help from the local animal care or control authority to ensue the correct procedures are met and the safety of the animal will be secure.
